Greg is a 30-year resident of Hawaii and has built in excess of 100 luxury homes/structures in Hawaii since 2003.
Greg attended the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and for over twenty years prior to founding Brown Development, he started several successful businesses on the islands of Maui, Kaua’i and Lana’i.
He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, General Contractor in the state of Hawaii, as well as a licensed Marine Boat Captain and Private Instrument rated Aviation Pilot.
Raised in the state of Maine, Greg is a believer, a family man and an outdoors man. He resides on Hawaii Island with his wife and five children. Together they enjoy horseback riding, hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, spending time on their ranch and enjoying the great outdoors.

Scott Trenery, Chief Operating Officer
Scott is a real estate enthusiast and entrepreneur with an degree in Mechanical Engineering from Berkeley and a background that includes the founding and management of two real estate and general contracting companies in the California Bay Area, as well as a multifamily development enterprise. Throughout his career, Scott has paired his passion for construction and finance with his detailed knowledge of architecture and engineering in order to develop properties, renovate homes, and partner with investors for large-scale opportunities.
As COO, Scott combines his real estate expertise with bold and innovative ideas for growth and development, embracing new technologies, recognizing housing trends and needs, and strategically executing and monitoring new builds and workforce dynamics.
Scott resides on Maui and enjoys the daily adventures of raising two young boys, while maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle that often finds him on cross-country motorcycle rides or running around the baseball field.
Cindy Lester, Director of Development
Cindy has been a resident of Maui for over 35 years and brings 20 years of construction experience – which includes building her own home with the Self Help Hawaii program. Her extensive accounting background earned her the position of Comptroller and Director of Development for Brown Development. She is also a seasoned professional at pulling permits and dealing with the County.
Mark Marolf, Project Manager
Mark has spent over forty years in the construction industry. Projects varied from both commercial and residential, including hotels, office buildings, apartments, schools, multi-family & single family homes, and tenant improvement projects. Mark has a degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida is a licensed General Contractor and licensed Community Association Manager .
Steve Bayes, Project Manager
Steve Bayes holds a Hawaii General Contractor’s license and brings with him over 30 years’ of experience in the construction industry. He has extensive experience in building and remodeling luxury homes on Maui, where he’s lived since 2003.
Basho Elliot, Field Supervisor
Basho brings a wealth of expertise in custom home construction and management that spans four decades. He grew up in a construction family, working for his father and learning the trade from 15 years old. Basho is an avid surfer and has been a great addition to Brown Development where he's been the supervising all aspects in the field since 2017.
Dave Jackson, Grading and Site Work Manager
A California native, Dave has over 20 years’ experience working with big machinery. His background, knowledge and expertise have earned him the Grading and Site Work Manager position with Brown Development.
Rose Valle, Director of Marketing
Rose brings extensive experience in marketing, web design, professional photography and copy writing expertise. She has worked in luxury resort hotels across the country and oversees the Property Management division of BD Properties Hawaii. Her work has appeared in Shutterbug Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Maui and Hawaii Visitor Guides, Los Angeles Magazine, and more.
Tiare Parsons, Development Coordinator
Born and raised on Maui, Tiare came to Brown Development in 2013. With almost 10 years’ experience within the construction industry and a strong background in kitchen and cabinet design, she has earned an assistant management position on our development team.
Linda Garcia, Accounting Assistant
Linda was born in California and has been a resident of West Maui for 40 years. She has numerous years of office management and bookkeeping experience. Linda previously worked for Brown Development and has re-joined our team as an Accounting Assistant to assist Cindy in the daily functions of our accounting department..
Bill Hobbs, Hawaii Island Operations Manager
Bill is a native of Southern California and brings a diverse construction management background to Brown Development. Prior to moving to Hawaii he managed a wide range of projects for a large public utility company. The projects he managed for Southern California Edison ranged from decommissioning of power plants to the design and build of a domestic water desalination plant. Bill has also managed pool and landscape projects as well as hotel room renovations for Hilton Grand Vacations. Bill is responsible for day to day site operations on the Big Island Island of Hawaii. He spends his off time with his two daughters and wife enjoying the beautiful beaches of the Kohala Coast.
Brian Klingbail, Hawaii Island Development Manager
Brian Klingbail joined the Brown Development team in 2019 to take advantage of innovative constructive methods to help reinvigorate the attainable housing market in Hawaii. He relocated to the Big Island from Bozeman Montana where he was focused on a series of large scale developments looking to implement off-site building practices.
With over ten years of experience in the building arena, he brings a high-level of understanding of prefabricated and modular construction methods. He is passionate about addressing an ever growing need for affordable housing.
Julia Alos, Hawaii Island Executive Development Assistant
Julia began her work in the hospitality industry at some of Washington DC’s finest luxury hotels. She transferred to Hawaii in 1992 with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and in 1998 she opened, operated and managed a statewide rental company serving inbound tourism clientele.
Since 2008 Julia has been actively serving her community on Hawaii Island. She is currently in her 2nd term as a member of South Kohala Community Development Planning Action Committee, sitting Chair of Waikoloa Community Leadership Council, and member of Waikoloa Village Wildfire Management Team. Previously, Julia was a member and VP of the Waikoloa Village Outdoor Circle Board and founded the annual Wiliwili Festival in 2010.
